Description

Mike Bloomeld was one of America’s greatest artists of the ’60s—’70s; our country’s answer to Eric Clapton. A skilled guitarist, arranger and writer, Bloomeld popularized his blues heroes’ tunes to an unaware teen audience so they could hear where rock ‘n' roll’s roots originated. After the demise of the Electric Flag, Bloomeld teamed up with Al Kooper (a founding member of Blood, Sweat & Tears) and Steven Stills (CSNY) for the incredibly successful Super Session LP on Columbia, a major seller and staple of any serious record collector. The follow-up, Live Adventures of Mike Bloomeld and Al Kooper was also highly successful. Until his death, Bloomeld continued to record both on his own and with other major artists (Dr. John, John Hammond, etc.) He never lost his love of blues, and continued to be one of America’s most popular blues and rock artists. His inuence was felt up until his death from an overdose at the young age of 37. A nal album, Cruisin’ For A Brusin’ was released the same day he died. This album stands as a tribute to one of our great musicians, as Mike perfume a selection of original and classic rock and blues material.
